As the importer of a range of premium Spanish wines into Australia, can I enter on behalf of the wineries I represent?

WARREN'S ANSWER

Yes you can. We had Turkish wines entered last week!  Never before, two Turkish wines entered!  A number of importers enter their international range to increase their brands' recognition in the local market - and some do very well.  For example, there is a Trophy for the highest pointed wine made from a Lesser Known Grape Variety.  It has been won regularly by Italian varietals entered by their local importers.  The requirements are the same, entry fees paid and judging samples received within the prescribed date.  Award recognition in the Sydney International Wine Competition certainly offers a leg-up for international wineries seeking to establish themselves as consumer recognised brands in Australia. The Competition's awards are also internationally recognised and carry EU certification.  Dare say your business deals with restaurants? Their focus in choosing wines for their wine lists parallels that of the Competition, recommending appropriate wines for the dining table. An award from the Sydney International Wine Competition adds peace of mind to the hospitality professional. It's a reassurance that the wine is food friendly and they are making the right choice in purchasing the wine, adding interest to their winelist.

Entries are now being accepted from all countries for the 33rd Sydney International Wine Competition. 

Entries close as soon as the 2,000 Entries cap is reached. The Competition will be judged 14-18 October and entrants will be advised of their provisional results on or before 4 November 2013.
