Warren Gibson
Spicy, attractive with plenty of oak in the background. Some warmth of fruits. A nice wine which may have been better with less oak. Tannins don’t necessarily meld with the dish

Meg Brodtmann
Quite a restrained, earthy nose. Huge tannins on the palate with lots of stewed plum, mulberry and blackberry. A big, very young wine with sufficient fruit to support the firm, chewy tannins. Another fairly neutral match with the beef cheek.

Dr Ken Dobler
Excellent deep crimson colour. Really interesting aromas of desiccated fruit, blackberry and mulberry jam. The palate is amazingly fresh and generous with complex perfumed red fruits with an olive leaf note. The finish is decidedly savoury and really sits well with food.

Brent Marris
A lovely lifted confectionary nose with hints of sweet oak, ripe berries and spice. Fine tannins on the palate give the wine structure and length. Beautiful richness on the mid palate keeps this wine beautifully alive and youthful. The beef cheeks work well bringing out the sweet oak and fruit.

Ying Tan
Very deep dense dark red black. Full, floral blackberries, slightly oily nose. Full bodied, dry, tannic with good fresh redfruit and floral entry, creamy oak emerging in mid-palate, balanced. Persistent creamy floral red fruit finish, tailing a little dry. Beef Cheek is fairly neutral, points up creaminess of oak a little.

Sue Bastian
Deep ruby red. Delicate dark plum nose. Intense sweet dark fruits and buttery notes. Medium length with sandy tannin and hints on sweet fruit to finish. Wine is made to look more disjointed and commercial with this dish.
