Judges' Comments

Kym Milne
Nutty, complex, sweet oak, cashew nut character. Crisp acid, oak character dominates the finish a little with the food

Warren Gibson
Complex, nutty. Not showing that fresh. Lacks drive and power. Lacks some definition and drive with the fish.

Meg Brodtmann
Beurre noisette, baked banana and a hint of ginger on the nose. A fuller, richer style of Chardonnay with mango, ginger powder, pineapple and peach all supported by subtle toasty oak. Interestingly, while the wine and the fish were well paired there was no improvement and the wine seemed a little less rich but still delicious.

Dr Ken Dobler
Lovely light straw gold colour. Very complex nose with elements of bacon bone, vanilla and guava. Palate shows more intense primary fruit notes with a long clean finish.

Brent Marris
A lovely burnt match nose and palate. Hints of gunpowder amidst tropical fruit. Integrated oak with a lovely fine acid backbone. Fish works really well with this wine. Flavours balance and harmony come to the forefront.

Ying Tan
Oaky biscuit nutty apple nose. Med- bodied, slightly herbal, floral apple and spicy oak. Dry creamy oaky finish. Simple. Snapper seems to draw out a touch more complexity.
