Judges' Comments

Warren Gibson
Fresh, fruity style. Youthful. An interesting fruit profile of fresh stone fruits with excellent length and acidity. Phenolics seem amplified with the dish.

Meg Brodtmann
Chalk, almond and unripe peach/nectarine aromas the nose is quite closed. Floral and simple on the palate. The wine is very light bodied. Despite being light bodied, the wine actually stands up to the celeriac and was a lovely match.

Dr Ken Dobler
Very pale straw with green hints. Attractive restrained nose with aromas of cut pear and apple blossom. Excellent savoury varietal flavours of cut pear which pairs wonderfully with savoury food.

Brent Marris
Hints of green subtle citrus notes on the nose. Floral characters on the palate with lovely texture and length. Well balanced finishing with subtle stoned fruit notes. The Celeriac dish brings out the greens and acid in this wine which is a big positive.

Ying Tan
Light herbal nutty floral nose. Med-bodied, dry, balanced, restrained floral nutty palate. Long floral finish. Celeriac seems to dry out the wine possibly because of the chocolate.

Sue Bastian
Pale straw, bright. Low intense nose. Crisp citrus acid. Good acid length. The delicate wine flavour works well with this dish and neither wine nor food dominates the other.
