Judges' Comments

Stuart Halliday
Rich and unctuous, toffee, coffee, dried figs and raisins, complex and long, sweet but oh so well balanced, sleek and lingering

Oliver Masters
Green orange brown colour, intense malty muscat nose, rich pure fine warm palate, with good balance to tannins heat and sweetness. Lovely match with the chocolate roulade.

Sue Bastian
Very dark amber. Lush and round palate. Very high acid and sweetness. Great with the dessert.

Natasha Hughes
Slightly volatile nose (nail varnish). Dark chocolate, treacle, dried fruit and tea leaves. Complex, long and well balanced, given the high levels of sweetness.

Corey Ryan
Dark brown with green hues, lifted meaty fish oil note aromas. Concentrated chewy textural wine big mouthfeel. The softness of the wine structure lack of tannin and acidity very high sugar swamps the food dish. A wine for enjoyment on its own.

Matthew Deller
Deep mahogany, green olive tinged development. Deeply complex aromas of spiced candied peel, raisins, espresso, black olive, molasses. Unctuous, effortlessly balancing high alcohol. Lavish, with a long finish.
