Judges' Comments

Stuart Halliday
More texture, more structured, some nice tannins with pleasant fruit/sugar balance. Made in a more savoury style, suitable with food

Oliver Masters
Dark red, lifted high tone nose, palate bit drying short and complex, has good density. Wasn’t enhanced by cheese selection

Sue Bastian
Deep purple. Lifted red and black berries. Spicy oak. High acidity, foamy mouthfeel. Rich dark fruit and choc on the palate. Moderate length.

Natasha Hughes
Ripe, oaky nose. Fairly simple, with not much fruit on the mid-palate and brief sweet finish.

Corey Ryan
Deep crimson colour, restrained youthful dark fruits and savoury aromatics. A juicy full rounded palate well-structured wine. The cheese and wafer lifted the primary red fruits – a textural robust. The cheese and wafer selection promote the sweet fruits robust flavours, there seems to be better wine balance with food.

Matthew Deller
Impressive Shiraz on its own right, the traditional method gives it an exotic effervescence. Complex, ethereal, game, liquorice, dark fruits, bramble, dark chocolate, espresso oak. Dense, concentrated, integrated mousse, dense, concentrated, fine powdery tannins, excellent length. Food accentuates the seriousness, complexity and poise of the wine.
