Judges' Comments

Stuart Halliday
Burnt marmalade notes, citrus tang overtones. Lovely toffee flavours, not cloying on the palate, goes well with a dessert that has some sweetness

Oliver Masters
Medium light orange brown colour. intense buttered raisens with hints of high tone and dried fruit. Palate fresh with bright acidity and tannin. Not a great pair with the chocolate roulade.

Sue Bastian
Mid burnt caramel, with olive green rim. Intense, with lovely upfront dried peach and nougat aromas, with hits of almond milk. Luscious mouthfeel, but with bright acid and lovely fresh dried fruit notes. Great length of fruit flavours and honey butter. This is a super complex wine and goes well with all the elements of this complex dessert.

Natasha Hughes
Savoury palate with nutty oxidative notes and treacle enhancing rich dried fruit notes. Enough vibrant acidity to balance the high levels of sugar.

Corey Ryan
Dark brown with green hues, rich chewy dried fruitcakes notes robust rich wine solid wine good intensity. The chocolate roulade lifted the freshness and ripeness of the fruits youthful and balanced sweetness.

Matthew Deller
Mahogany. Classic, raisin, dried apricots, dried figs, coffee. Luscious, with moderate acidity and balanced, warm alcohol. Long, nutty, coffee finish.
