Judges' Comments

Kym Milne
Floral, touch of honey and candied lemon aromas, pure Riesling palate with touch of sweetness balanced by crisp, zippy acidity. Long and mineral. Delicious with this dish

Warren Gibson
Complex, attractive. Quite a forward nose. Delicious wine, savoury and long on the palate. Appears to be a sweeter style in this line-up. Attractive match with the dish.

Meg Brodtmann
Lovely florals on the nose orange blossom, cherry blossom and a hint of jonquils. Quite a simple wine on the palate with slightly unbalanced residual sugar making the wine seem a little confected and hot. Great match the hotness is reduced (but not removed).

Dr Ken Dobler
Beautiful pale straw green colour. Super attractive nose with aromas of lemon, lime and stone fruit blossom. Seductive palate with wonderful primary fruit flavours and a hint of balanced residual sugar which lifts the fruit flavours.

Brent Marris
Light floral aromatics, lovely ripe citrus on the palate. Delicate finish. Well balanced with the fennel dish but the wine just needs more concentration of fruit.

Ying Tan
Moderately intense, floral, slightly oily, grapey herbal nose. Light, dry, fresh, balanced, lightly biscuit, spicy herbal floral fruit. A touch short on finish. Fennel with Tahini and Sumac: Lovely accentuation of Riesling fruit with earthy spicy sumac, tahini.

Sue Bastian
Mid straw/yellow gold Delicate, lemon grass nose Quite intense on the palate and fresh with great length. Nice match with the aniseed fennel notes and spice.
