Judges' Comments

Stuart Halliday
Sweet and jammy with bubbles, pleasant and gulpable. Nice tannin structure, pleasant aftertaste, bring me another glass!

Oliver Masters
Dark red, boysenberry and plum fruit aromas, complex fine mousse, gentle fine dry tannins, nicely matched by cheese selection.

Sue Bastian
Magenta. Intense dark berries, marzipan attractive nose. Not overly effervescent. Bright acid and mixed berry fruits. More simple style. Still pairs well with the cheeses.

Natasha Hughes
Deep dark fruit with chocolatey notes and hint of dried herbs and spice. Firm tannins. Big and bold. Perhaps a bit too sweet on the finish for perfect balance, but this helps make it a good partner for the cheeseboard.

Corey Ryan
Deep crimson colour, lifted spicy ripe fruits. Chewy textural rounded wine good intensity, ripe fruits plummy robust acid line richness. Sweet fleshy wine. The wine is less sweet with wafer and cheese fleshy and rounded. Good food match.

Matthew Deller
VA, liquorice, violet, mint, wild dark fruits, prune, Fernet, dark chocolate. Lush palate with powdery, drying tannin. Some alcohol burn, medium length. Food accentuates sweetness, flabbiness and alcohol burn.
