Judges' Comments

Kym Milne
Complex, tasty bottle aged nose with lemon zest aromas. Complex, still bright acidity, beeswax notes, and very long finish. Very taste yet refreshing foil with the fish dish.

Warren Gibson
Beautiful bottle age. Toast and honey. Rich and concentrated. Excellent with the fish. A nice synergy of flavours.

Meg Brodtmann
Incredible nose of toast, honey, lemon zest, preserved lemon.  Just so complex with freshness and development all in one.  A pure example of what Semillon can do with a bit of age.  Still fresh but with complexing development.  Surprisingly, the wine overpowered the fish.

Dr Ken Dobler
Really attractive green gold colour. Seductive vegetal and toasty aromas complexed with some lovely lanolin and citrus notes. Wonderful length of flavour with amazing complexity and power but with beautiful precision.

Brent Marris
Hint of straw and toastyness coming through. Good concentration of fruit with a lovely lemon backbone. Firmness of acidity and a slight grapefruit finish make this wine very appealing. Slight firmness on the finish. The fish dish gives the wine more zing and freshness. A great match.

Ying Tan
Light green –gold.  Toasty, oily, waxy, lemony lightly lanolin tinged apple and flowers nose.  Med-bodied, dry, fresh acidity, lime tinged waxy, lanolin, toast, apple, pear, floral mid-palate.  Elegant, richly flavoured and fresh.  Dry lime, floral, melon apple floral finish.  Long. Snapper seems to point up all the positive elements of the wine.
