Judges' Comments

Warren Gibson
Subtle pear nose. Fresh and youthful. Dry. Leaner style. A good match with the dish. Flavours are in synergy.

Meg Brodtmann
Floral aromatics with just ripe pear and yellow apple aromas. Oily textured palate with great palate weight. Fresh pear, acacia, apple, white blossom the wine has lots of flavour. Just finishes a little hot. The celeriac makes the wine lose its mid palate weight and appear broad and simple.

Dr Ken Dobler
Lovely stone fruit and quince aromas on the nose. Lovely delicate palate with enough fruit weight to give interest and length without appearing clumsy.

Brent Marris
Clean crisp elegant nose with crunchy slightly floral notes on the palate. Hints of white pear with a crisp acid finish. A good match as the Celeriac dish brings through the crisp fruit and acid finish.

Ying Tan
Fresh apple, floral nose. Med-bodied, dry, appley floral mid-palate concentration. Spicy, floral biscuit and nut finish. Long.

Sue Bastian
Pale yellow straw, with slight pink tints. Delicate straw and red apple notes. Fresh slightly puckering acid with more red apple. Medium to long length of flavour. The wine looks more acidic with this dish.
