Judges' Comments

Kym Milne
Blueberry fruit, young and bright. Easy palate of bright blueberry fruit, some earthy notes and ripe, soft tannins. Young, early drinking style. Easy foil with the food

Stuart Halliday
Lovely uplifted red fruit, nice and ripe, silky tannins on the palate, firm but balanced. Very poised and complete with the dish of grilled octopus and eggplant

Oliver Masters
Medium red, primary closed red fruited nose, spice cedar finish, similar with BBQ Octopus food match

Natasha Hughes
Smoky notes and slightly stewed red fruit. Simple and juicy. Fairly brief.

Corey Ryan
Crimson colour, brooding spicy red cherry and savoury aromas. A juicy soft robust wine with excellent generosity of flavour, supportive tannin and balance. The tempranillo works better with the food dish.

Matthew Deller
Medium, dark appearance. Lifted, fragrant nose, with dark wild berry fruits, dark chocolate, violets, fresh herbal element, chilli dark chocolate oak. Quite creamy, with fresh, crisp acidity, and furry tannins. Medium length, crunchy finish. Food enlivens the wine
