Judges' Comments

Warren Gibson
Lifted, slightly volatile. Fresh fruit. Similar on palate. Dry and tart

Meg Brodtmann
Quite a savoury nose with hints of orange blossom and beurre noisette. Great chalky acid with layers of apple and orange blossom. There is evident residual sugar which is slightly unbalanced. No improvement with the food.

Dr Ken Dobler
Pale straw green colour. Talc and dried herb aromas on the nose. Lovely ripe perfumed talc flavours supported by a mineral savoury quality.

Brent Marris
Slight creamy, leesy nose with hints of passionfruit and pineapple on the palate. Hints of honeysuckle sweetness on mid palate, finishing with lovely well-rounded citrus notes. A good match as the Celeriac dish makes the wine more complex and balanced.

Ying Tan
Smoky, volcanic like ash and flint, nuts, dried yellow flowers on nose. Med-full, dry, spicy, fresh backing acidity, nutty, smoky baked apple and pear. Dry smoky nutty finish. Long. Slightly warm hot tail. Celeriac brings out the smoky elements of the wine.

Sue Bastian
Pale yellow straw. Delicate and attractive white blossom and savoury nose. Lovely fruit weight on the palate with exotic flowers and tropical fruit notes with slightly toasty undertones. Great acid fruit balance and length. This is a gorgeous match with this deceptively complicated dish.
