Judges' Comments

Kym Milne
Ripe, meaty, savoury aromas. Ripe cherries, savoury earth and spice, fairly firm finish.

Stuart Halliday
Tannins are a little green and stalky, chewy infact. Fruit is there but a wine that needs food

Oliver Masters
Medium dark red, spice and dark liquorice on nose, fine pure elegant wine, similar positive impression with BBQ Octopus food match

Natasha Hughes
Reductive character tamps down the fruit. Firm and a bit hollow.

Corey Ryan
Brick brown hues, lifted spice dark cherry fruited wine, some reductive aromas. A chewy complex wine, briary and concentrated wine. The tannins and acidity form this wine work well with the Octopus texture well matched.

Matthew Deller
Medium pale appearance. Dried fruit, cured meat, game, liquorice, dried herbs, nutty old oak. Powerful palate with good density, concentration, fresh acidity and chewy, chalky tannins. Impressive wine with good length. Food works well, though does accentuate the oak and alcohol.
