Debra Meiburg
Earthy, dense
fruit. Fine grained tannins. Aromatic and flavourful. Berry compote
finish.
Andrew Wigan
Bright red
colour with nice cherry notes and some green stalk. Long and soft on
the finish.
Warren Gibson
A relatively
light colour. Attractive, moderately complex nose. Not overly
powerful but quite long and lingering. Nice floral complexities
reminiscent of good Burgundy. The match with the duck is good but
perhaps with some acidity missing to cleanse the finish.
Adrian Atkinson
Medium dark
colour. Green lime juice character on the nose. It has a funky green
palate and is dilute with a slight spritz. On the palate however, the
wine comes alive with lovely sweet, dense fruit. A good balance and
harmony with the dish.
Mark Robertson
This has got
lifted, spicy, green tints. Very pure. It’s a bit botrytised and
basic. It is tough going on the palate.
Kym Milne
Slightly funky,
slightly honeyed aroma. Maybe a touch of botrytis. Quite a full,
sweet fruit palate but with gritty, dry tannins. It looked dry and
hard with the food.
Tony Allen
Fairly one
dimensional on both the nose and the palate although it did show
elements of the varietal quite well. It did nothing for the dish and
vice versa.
