Judges' Comments
Mark Robertson
Terrific wine.
It was powerful and somewhat minty but had lifted aromas. Slightly
cooked with some good, tarry, complex aged characters. There was a
query whether this wine had too much stalkiness but no, it worked
here. It built and improved the wine immensely. A successful wine
with good extract finally.
Kym Milne
A fleshy, richly
textured Pinot Noir. Big, savoury and full on the palate. Some warm
alcohol on the finish but good length. Firm tannins. A good wine with
the food.
Andrew Wigan
Solid red colour
with rich cherry notes and some stalk. Rich, soft and long on the
finish.
Warren Gibson
Simple, ripe and
slightly clumsy nose. One dimensional and lacking vibrancy. A nice
enough wine but lacks complexity and power. Similarly with the duck
dish. The strawberry, simple flavours lack the intensity to match
the power of the food.
Adrian Atkinson
Green, herbal
and dry tannins on the palate. With food, it tends to soften up and
clean up. However a touch dilute, lacking real density and the charm
of others.
Tony Allen
A fruit cordial
nose. The ripe fruit carried through to the palate but was not very
well balanced. It tasted like raspberry cordial with the duck.

Ripe red berry,
cherry fruit. Dense, concentrated. Firm tannins. Moderate finish.
