Mark Robertson
Very attractive,
sweet, lifted aroma and a great palate. This wine had a chalky,
mineral aspect to it that went with its sweetness. It was a terrific
wine. A very minor quibble - maybe a little cloying - but boy! This
wine had great length.
Adrian Atkinson
Light and bright
colour. The nose is full of brambles. The palate is soft, bright,
fruity but with some complexity on a soft, juicy finish. Some lovely
fruit concentration, elegance and richness. Sweet, rich and
concentrated.

Sweet, ripe red
fruit on the palate. A well structured palate. It matched the dish
quite well. Both the food and the wine benefited.

Lacking some
vibrancy and fruit intensity. Not entirely pure. Some stalky notes
and a dullish palate. Lacking complexity and power. The wine, in
combination with the duck, lacks acidity and power.

Medium red with
a low key aroma of stewed red fruits.

Lightish,
complex, savoury. Lighter bodied but with good, firm tannins.
Slightly drying. Okay with the food but looked a touch hard.

Gentle,
perfumed, red strawberry fruit. Light bodied. Crisp acidity. Medium
length. The fruit gently accents the duck meat and coaxes the
sweetness from the beetroot rustier.
