Warren Gibson
Cherry, berry
nose with some stalky, herbal notes evident. Very attractive. Pure,
vibrant palate. Firm tannins show potential for ageing. Some stalky
notes come through. The savoury nature of the wine with the lovely
acidity complement the duck well, leaving a similar savoury and
lingering finish. Fantastic matching.

A deep colour
with that metallic iodine nose. A bit like being at a seaside. It was
green, hard and tight. It gave the impression of a wine that had had
a lot of stalks added to it. It was quite tough. With food, there was
a huge improvement. That stalkiness and greenness was now a long,
lingering, grainy tannin. So there you go, it does work.

Aromatic, spicy,
charry, green herbal notes. Crisp acidity, firm tannins, good length.

Nice, bright red
with some green, stalky notes. Lovely, firm style.

Ripe berry fruit
with some ripe cherries. Rich with a slightly angular, slightly
sharp palate. Juicy but with some tart edges. A complex wine. Quite
rich. Okay with the food. Still slightly raw and chunky but okay.
Adrian Atkinson
A big, sweet,
flashy style with a big, rich, mid palate. Not as much body in the
middle as I would like and the finish is slightly dry and coarse.
With the food, the sweetness comes through well on the front palate,
but on the finish, it’s still short and almost metallic.
Tony Allen
A very lifted,
juicy, fruity nose. Sweet, ripe fruit. Commercially sound. It lost
all varietal character when paired with the food. It just tasted
fruity and jammy.
