Andrew Wigan
Bright red
colour with a tightly structured bouquet of dark fruit. Beautiful
flavour and texture. Quite seamless.
Warren Gibson
Ripe cherry
fruit. Clean and pure. Relatively simple and lower in acidity. A
riper style. This wine lacks the extra dimension but is attractive.
Quite a nice, food matching wine. The lower acidity doesn’t help,
but the power of the wine works well with the duck. It has a nice,
clean finish.

Lifted, oaky
aromas. Good bright Pinot fruit with the sweet oak. The oak was
strong on the palate but silky. Nice fruit. The finish was slightly
swamped by oak. With the food, the oak dominated a little bit but it
seemed to cope better.

A very good
bright colour. It was a little dusty on the nose but had pure berry
fruits coming through with some pepper and dustiness on the palate.
Almost Grenache like in its “jubiness” and it worked with the
food. Just a query over whether the wine was perhaps a little
cloying. It was sweet rather than extractive.

A touch feral
and oaky with high oak tannins and grip. The palate is dry and
metallic with the food.

Smoky camp fire
oak. Ripe, red liquorice root. Soft acidity, modest length. The smoky
oak does not enhance the roasted duck meat.
Tony Allen
Delivers much
more on the palate than on the nose. Probably helped by sweet, ripe
fruit. It was a touch clumsy though. The alcohol stood out when
tasted with the food.
