The Dessert (Unfortified) Wines
were judged with Apple Tarte Tatin with Greek Yogurt and Almond

Serves 8


4 Apples, firm

100g sugar

100g Butter

Pinch of salt


250g Flour

200g butter

3g Salt

55g water, ice cold


Serve with -

300ml Greek yogurt, Farmers Union

Slithered Almonds, toasted


Method -

1. Mix the ingredients for the dough. Roll out the dough into a sheet of baking paper and reserve it in the fridge until baking.

2. Peel the apple, cut each apple into half and 3 wedges.

3. In an oven proof pan, melt the butter and sugar and cook it until form a light caramel sauce. Place the apple wedges evenly.

4. Cover the apples with the dough and bake for 35-40 min at 170 degrees.

5. When the pie slightly cools down, flip it onto a plate.

To Serve

Serve slice of the pie with a spoon of Greek yogurt and sprinkle with toasted almonds.
