for the 2013 SIWC Competition

We are fortunate to be able to attract a Judging Panel of fourteen Judges of the highest calibre. Most are Senior Wine Buyers, Senior Winemakers or Senior Wine Consultants who give of their time freely. Our triple phase judging process, which includes a final judging for the Finalists/Award winners alongside appropriate food, cannot be rushed.

These Judges offer this Competition a full week of their time. And if you add in their travel time, especially for the long-haul judges from the US and the UK, it is a huge commitment. It must never be a stressful experience – or we will never see them again. Ten of our Panel of fourteen are returning Judges.

Entries are still arriving. We apologise but, you will understand, we cannot accept them. With refined logistics and a superior Stewards Brigade, we offer a complete wine judging process for the 2,000 entries we can accept.

The Award winners are identified by variations of the Competition’s seen above distinctive Blue-Gold-with-Logo Bottle medallions, now recognised all over the world.

Judging Samples Deadline is next Friday, October 21, Sydney time.
There is some provision for leniency, if you let us know.

Before they fly away,

The Judges Farewell Dinner is open to all winelovers. A four course Dinner plus Aperitif with be held in Darley’s magnificent Dining Room, Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort and Spa. Iconic wines are served blind with each course. After each course, the Judges are “invited” to speak to the wines, which is informative, and always great fun.
