Dear Friends - in Wine and Food

COGITATING - AND - NOW AVAILABLE!

The 2012 Entry Form is now available On-Line.

Well, from the number of “When can I enter?” email and phone enquiries received, it’s that - NOW AVAILABLE - reference in which our Winery Subscribers will be most interested. The 2012 Competition’s Entry Form was up-loaded last Monday, 6 June. The first entries were received just over an hour later. As you know, we judge in late October but entries close when the 2,000 entries cap has been reached. Already this first week, we have received 132 entries, mainly from Boutique Winemakers, but also for a larger winery, entering for the first time. But it is also the COGITATING reference, see below, about which I would like you to share your thoughts.

It’s been pretty chilly in these ‘ere Blue Mountains for the past couple of weeks. Early morning temperatures around 2/3 degrees Centigrade which, with a westerly breeze blowing, make the early morning walks with the Rotty’s positively Arctic! Definitely a time for hearty Winter Fare. We have had Guest Luncheons on two occasions this past week, a chance to test our “right wine to complement Winter food” concepts.

What Wine would you Serve with a Cauliflower and Blue Cheese Soup

Healthy, simple flavours, this Cauliflower and Blue Cheese soup is easy to prepare. But what wine would you suggest to add interest to this starter?
