WITHDRAWAL?
May I suggest an alternative?
The
Competition has extended the
Deadline for delivery of judging samples from 20 September to 4.00pm
Monday 30 September 2013.
More than I can remember in
the past, so many emails and phone calls to advise "we have to withdraw
some of our entered wines which are not going to be bottled in time to
meet the Delivery Deadline". We have offered the extension to them and,
in most cases, their entries will meet the new Deadline, albeit with
Lab Labels. In that respect, we do not send you SIWC labels,
if that is what you have been waiting for. For the
information they contain, and for speed of identification, fully
dressed judging samples are preferred, lab labels are acceptable, but
do include full details. A lab label that simply says
"Cab/Merlot 2011" is bound to mystify! And for those that
still cannot meet the new Delivery Deadline, don't waste your Entry
Fee;
you can always nominate a substitute entry.

we are still accepting entries, but you really are running it right to
the line.
Entries close this Friday, 13 September 2013. Still, the
on-line entry facility allows you to submit entries instantaneously.

Then, there is
always the second option, as offered on the back of a speeding
ticket. 'If you wish to seek leniency and plead for Late
Entry, your reasons and explanations must be submitted no later than
4.00pm, 20 September 2013'.
