GLOBAL WARMING?

We have potential for Ice Wines!

Haven’t had a chance to check what the Weather Bureau had to say about the temperature here in the mountains, west of Sydney, this morning. It was my ear lobes on our early morning bush-trail walk with the dogs that warned it was cooler than usual. Then, I noticed the dogs were strangely motionless, as if cast in bronze. Closer examination revealed the bush-land puddles had frozen over, not thick enough for skating, but thick enough to stick their tongues! On our return, the Radio News advised our main road artery, the Great Western Highway, had been cut for all traffic because of snow and slippery icy road surface conditions. Nearby Orange Wine District, our closest vignoble, registered minus 5°C, rising to a maximum of 5°C. We have potential for Ice Wines! The unusual consequence of this cold-snap is that we have to put the white wines in the frig to warm them up!
