ENTRIES RESTRICTED

If you need 150-400 "wine judges" to asses your entrants, Awards from wine shows that attract such huge entries may not always be the most helpful guides for wine consumers.

There are no lightweights in our Judging Panels (see this year's panel). Each year's judges represent a relatively small, but high talent, compact judging unit, representative of the major and emerging export markets.

At every stage of this Competition's rigorous "Judging With Food" process, it is only these senior judges who assess our Entrants' wines. A Sunday rendezvous on October 12, returning to their principal income source the following Saturday or Sunday, after allowing for travelling time, our judges are typically away from their home bases for ten or more days.

Given there are only fifty-two weeks in a year, a whole week or more of their time is an enormous contribution which each of our panel members willingly offers our entrants.

In these circumstances , we must restrict the total number of entries to offer a reasonable ask of their palates and concentration. By this restriction on the total number of entries, the quality of their assessments remains high, as does the value of the Competition's Awards.
