Judges' Comments

Warren Gibson
Very pure, attractive nose. Red berry fruits. Excellent nose. A sweet fruited palate. Long and lingering although not strongly varietal. Rich and concentrated flavours with the dish

Meg Brodtmann
Quite intriguing aromas of rosemary and mandarin with some blackcurrant very pretty on the nose. Great palate sweet berry fruit, lovely chalky tannins and vanilla and clove oak. Lovely wine. Superb matching. Desert island dinner.

Dr Ken Dobler
Dark red with crimson hints. attractive nose with notes of tobacco leaf, blackcurrant and black cherry. Palate shows wonderful fruit drive and length with fine grained tannins which are very food friendly.

Brent Marris
Rich ripe berry fruit with a lovely lift of slightly savoury fruit. Hints of nutmeg and cloves come through amidst lovely smoky oak. Firm fruit tannins are supported with ripe berry fruit on the finish. Lovely richness comes through with the steak dish. Compliments the wine beautifully.

Ying Tan
Deep dense dark red. Capsicum, blackcurrant, spice, nose. Med-full, dry, firm juicy creamy red fruit and blackcurrant, pencil shavings, balanced, persistent mid-palate. Dry, tannic, oaky finish. Long. Sirloin brings out sweetness, tones down dryness.

Sue Bastian
Deep crimson red. Moderately intense, plum and leafy notes, moderately complex. Sweet dark fruits on the palate. Soft furry tannin. Match makes wine a little herbal and bitter.
