Warren Gibson
Lifted and floral. Aromatics are in the ripe spectrum. Quite a tannic wine with good persistence. Still quite dry with the dish but some synergy of flavours

Meg Brodtmann
Intense nose of stewed mulberry, aniseed, dried woody herbs and some clove. Quite a savoury palate with some black olive, herby porchetta and a touch of aniseed. Interesting wine. Less attractive with the beef cheek – the savoury/herbal character of the wine is a little lost with the sauce.

Dr Ken Dobler
Fantastic dark crimson colour. Earthy, black olive and dried herb aromas on the nose. A very savoury palate with those earthy, black fruit flavours and some complex stalky notes.

Brent Marris
Lifted slightly medicinal notes on the nose but lovely spice and savoury characters on the palate. Firm fruit tannins with lovely well integrated oak. Well-structured with hints of dry herbs coming through on the finish. Medicinal character still comes through with the beef cheek dish.

Ying Tan
Deep red. Herbal, slightly stocky redfruit nose. Full, dry, dried herbs, floral, sour cherries, moderately tannic, firm, simple fruit. Dark fruit on finish, a touch monolithic, simple and rustic dryness on the tail. Med-long finish. Beef Cheek dries out the wine, emphasizes simple rustic character of the wine particularly the tannins.

Sue Bastian
Deep ruby with lovely purple rim. Up front sweet spice notes over gently stewed blackberry. Lovely sandy tannin structure with more medium fruit weight and hints of liquorice. Relatively short on the palate. This dish makes this wine look more angular in acidity.
