Judges' Comments

Warren Gibson
Less colour than others. Slightly closed. Fresh fruit. Pure fruit. Lacks a little density. Slightly short. A moderate match with the dish.

Meg Brodtmann
Attractive aromas of strawberry lollies, fresh raspberries and something floral. Well balanced wine with fine chalky tannins, plenty of jubey red fruits and a sweet spot in the middle of the palate. Well matched with the steak.

Dr Ken Dobler
Medium brick red colour. Ripe red fruit aromas on the nose. The palate shows those lovely red fruits with excellent length of flavours. This more savoury grenache style complements food well.

Brent Marris
Rich stewed fruit notes on the nose following through to the palate. Slightly dark cherries and earthy notes on the palate with lovely sweet oak and a dried herb finish. A lovely match with the steak dish as the earthy notes become more complex.

Ying Tan
Med deep red. Smoky, creamy oaky red fruit nose. Med-bodied, dry, simple. Dry simple finish. Sirloin plays up sweetness of fruit but also emphasizes tannins.

Sue Bastian
Mid –deep ruby with slight purple-brown rim Medium intensity, dried red fruits, cherry wood, brown sugar and cinnamon. Lush mouthfeel with soft rounded tannin and lots of fruit and spice. Good length. This is a pretty spot on match.
