Judges' Comments

Warren Gibson
Cooler climate style, fresh fruit. Some slight reduction. Greener fruit spectrum. Moderate body and length. Spicy. Excellent match of flavours with the dish.

Meg Brodtmann
Whole bunch aromas with some game notes the wine has some forest floor aromas as well. A tight, elegant wine with layers of dark cherry, macerated strawberry, chocolate and furry, slightly stalky tannins. Well matched with the duck making the wine appear less stalky.

Dr Ken Dobler
Light bright crimson pink colour. Intensely seductive varietal aromas on the nose. A very fruit driven style with loads of cherry berry flavours and a lovely persistent palate.

Brent Marris
Round ripe berry fruit aromas with hints of floral notes. Well integrated oak with lovely hints of chocolate of the mid palate. Ripe tannins with a soft round fruit driven finish. A great match with the duck as the dish brings out more savoury notes.

Ying Tan
Pale red. Med bodied, dry, spicy red fruit. Fairly straightforward. Duck Risotto fairly neutral impact.

Sue Bastian
Pale to mid cherry red with pink rim. Delicate cranberry notes. Bright red fruits on the palate with firm acid. Medium body. Pairing lifts meal and wine.
