Judges' Comments

Kym Milne
Fresh, complex, white nectarine and floral notes. Lovely palate texture. Creamy and full with subtle oak not overpowering the wine. Rich but very long and elegant

Stuart Halliday
Smokey, toasted oak, powerful on the mid palate, well integrated fruit and oak, grapefruit, white peach, elegant finish

Oliver Masters
Pale gold, chary toasted almonds and spice on nose, similar on palate with mealy dry finish, little bit heavy with smoked trout dish

Natasha Hughes
Smoky palate with crisp, clean tropical fruit and a hint of buttered toast. Brisk, well balanced. Some real depth of flavour.

Corey Ryan
Pale straw colour lifted thiol and reductive aromas. Chewy textural wine good intensity and palate structure, refined elegant acidity. A fresh style with good linear line. The food dish promotes the wine flavours, the acidity well poised on the palate.

Matthew Deller
Medium gold. Subdued, savory nose, flinty, citrus, white flower, baking spice oak. Medium concentration with tart, early harvest acidity, green edged phenolics. Medium length, oaky finish. Food brings the wine together, smooths out the texture and enhances the smoky complexities.
