Judges' Comments

Kym Milne
Bright spice, pear and rose petal. Ripe flavours, quite rich and spicey with a touch of sweetness and a warm alcohol feel on the finish. Complementary flavours with the dish. Wine needs to be chilled to subdue the slightly warm finish but v good wine

Warren Gibson
Lifted nose with Nashi pear and creaming soda notes. Fresh fruit. Quite dry. Aa good match with the dish. Nice and fresh with enough acidity to make it work.

Meg Brodtmann
Classic Pinot gris nose flower garden, pear, pineapple and apple. The palate is rounded out by the residual sugar. Lots of fruit salad fruit pear, peach, apple. The wine just needs a bit more acid to finish clean. Quite hot on the finish. The orange flavours of the sauce work well with the flavour profile making it more flavoursome.

Dr Ken Dobler
Bright straw yellow. Really seductive tropical fruit nose with aromas of pineapple, custard apple and spice. Exotic spice and musk notes on the palate which is intense and lingering without being clumsy. would be a great match to asian or heavily spiced food.

Brent Marris
Lovely rose petal nose and palate. Hints of nectarine flesh and white pear on the palate. Good concentration of fruit and flavour. Nice acid backbone. A great match with the fish as the florals and white pear character remain and the flavours of the fish dish immerge

Ying Tan
Herbal, oily fairly neutral appley fruit on nose. Med-full, off-dry, grapey appley lightly floral, herbal palate. Dry, spicy finish. Med- long. Snapper emphasized purity of apple, rounded out the wine, though still quite simple.
