Judges' Comments

Stuart Halliday
Lovely savoury sweet/salty bitterness on the palate. Not too cloying on the palate, lovely nuttiness

Oliver Masters
Medium brick colour, lifted, vibrant fresh sweet raisined fruit palate with hints of oak and orange peel, nice balance of tannin and alcohol. Good match with chocolate roulade.

Sue Bastian
Mid-deep amber, pale orange rim. Soy sauce, mushroom, vanilla and mixed dried fruit aromas. Quite a viscous mouth feel with more caramel toffees. Not a long finish. This is a very complimentary match making it nutty and complex.

Natasha Hughes
Tea leaves, toffee and orange rind. Some real depth of flavour and enough freshness to balance the sweetness. Long, slightly spirity finish.

Corey Ryan
Brown with green hues, lifted ripe dried fruits and nutty undertone aromas. Full flavoured complex drying tannins chewy wine rich robust wine chunky. The chocolate roulade promotes the tawny sweetness chewy textural wine.

Matthew Deller
Amber / mahogany. Walnut, coffee, savory, raisin. Good density, and fresh acidity with medium sweetness and quite hot alcohol but very length.
