Judges' Comments

Kym Milne
Deep copper colour with green tints. Intensely botrytised nose, honey, caramel, lanolin. Quite aged.

Warren Gibson
Very complex, golden colour. Advanced colour for the age but a delicious wine. Rich and concentrated. Excellent match with the dish. A great synergy of flavours

Meg Brodtmann
Appears to be more oxidatively aged on the nose with notes of caramel, toffee, marmalade, quince – a beautifully complex nose. Lovely on the palate with luscious sweetness perfectly balanced by the acid. Loads of apricot fruit with some caramel. The caramel aspect of the wine is more enhanced with the tarte but it is a lovely match.

Dr Ken Dobler
Medium amber colour. Lifted nose with bright orange peel and blossom aromas. Intense flavours which are long and mouth filling.

Brent Marris
Big aged dried apricot notes on the nose and palate. Slight musty characters on the finish. Too much botrytis for the fruit. Lacking real spark with the food.

Ying Tan
Light amber tawny. Cheesy botrytised, orange peel, apricot, peach nose. Light, nutty, botrytised, caramelised peach, orange peel, spice high acid, balanced. Sweet honeyed, nutty finish. Long. Apple Tar Tatin - Fairly neutral match.
